May 2009 i have just updated the site. their is now a forum. You can contacter others via this website, via a safe (private, no email addresses are revealed) message form.
Why a Forum?
Many people feel strongly to absolutely reject amalgamation. The legislation is confusing to many, branded "gobble-de-gook" to some. Many people are unsure. Still others cannot see the harm in it. This Forum is for those who in principal reject amalgamation and and embrace "self determination" for all regions.
This is my small effort to enable all people to be involved in a dialogue. Naturally, the forum users list are encouraged to contact each other. And you do not need to know each others' email address - emails are webmail, sent internally for privacy and security. Supporters can always agree to exchange email addresses..
From "Friends of Noosa" Website - www.friendsofnoosa.org Friends of Noosa spokesperson Bob Ansett said “We are not giving up and strongly oppose any form of amalgamation and know that the community and Council will continue to fight the State Government’s decision to amalgamate Noosa. By launching our new website today it provides an up to date overview on legal issues, proposed events, marches and donation opportunities to ensure all of Noosa’s friends are in touch with the latest developments. We have been inundated with requests on how to donate funds to assist with the fight and we have set up a trust account to accept those donations. The website will be another vehicle to do that. Many activities are unveiling on a day to day basis. We have welcomed the support of the Federal Government and will be following up on how we can execute a referendum moving forward”. Freedom of speech is absolutely essential to a functional democracy and Noosa has not been provided with that opportunity. We are asking the community to maintain the rage and join with the Friends of Noosa as we create other initiatives to show the Queensland Government that Noosa is far from lying down on the issue of amalgamation. “Our fight has just begun”, Ansett said.
